Browns are a shockingly ran estate agent - I'm currently London based and relocating back to teesside. I found a property, however calling the middlesbrough/stockton this had to be my worst experience yet dealing with an estate agent, in the past I've bought a house through this same office! London work colleagues who over heard the conversation were embarrassed by the attitude from the staff more so from an old member of staff named sharon.
You'd have thought the level of service would be better compared to south. Needing a property for my family and thinking I found the right property I asked would it be possible to take the property without viewing. Oohh a big no no apparently many red flags from Sharon (a right drama queen). Listening very little of my situation or ignoring me completely likely the latter I felt to get this property I now needed to drive almost 8 hour round trip with a toddler.
I made them aware of this and arranged the nearest slot. It was then of no suprise 1 hour before property viewing and having completeled the journey another lady from browns called to cancel(not Sharon). This low level of service is not good enough. They've wasted a whole day of my time as a contactor, the cost of a days pay, and the cost of travel.
Who's going to reimburse me? Since, I've spoken with other agents who have been more than assisting and helpful. And stating you are able to take properties from remote locations providing there is a virtual tour which most now do. Just not browns. Maybe it's old lady syndrome. And someone parked in her spot at the office, but still there is no excuse giving customers the fun around.

Unbelievable service - valuation Wednesday, on the market by Thursday offers made by Friday - 3 DAYS! I have tried to call the agent regarding one property. The staff is quite rude towards their customers. They told me that they don't let property via virtual setting or a friend seeing the property, which was not feasible for me as I live in India currently. To their regards, I agreed and told them the friend visiting the property would also be living. But, they disregarded me saying then ask her to call us.
On of my friend called them ok her behalf as she was busy with some work to arrange a viewing to which she can go, to which they also declined rudely. And then after all of this, she called so that we can get a viewing they declined over hours saying we don't have a viewing of that property.

Quick response to value property and take marketing photographs. Good description of property, photos adequate. Very disappointed by the staff. Didn't recognize name of seller or a prospective purchaser after second viewing. Important information was sent to wrong address. I phoned branch about these issues and was told minor mistakes happen! The staff were not proactive about contacting me during process of selling.

From the point of view of a seller using Browns. Everything done by Browns was reactive, when challenged for updates the response was blatant lies or assumptions. The interests of the buyer outweighed that of the seller. Didnt meet any deadlines or follow up on any conditions of sale.my house sale happened 2 months AFTER the agreed date on the condition of sale. I would NEVER use Browns again or recommend them. The only time they do anything proactive is when they want paying!

Incredibly professional, efficient and experienced team. Prompt, positive communication from the very start, realistic valuation, a whole raft of offers within days of placing on the market. Help in choosing the best offer - which was not the highest but the one that was most likely to close the deal in shortest time - and well above the asking price too. Sold within a week. Great solid company. I'd never go anywhere else and a pleasure to deal with.
