Joplings

Joplings have advertised a couple of properties to let for me. They have been professional and great with communication. Both tenants they have found have been really nice. I would definitely recommend using them.

Joplings' Thirsk office dealt with my late parent's properties very well for many years and when we needed help with an outgoing tenant who left our property in a very dirty and damaged condition and owing rent, Emily acted on our behalf in dealing with contractors and The TDS in a very efficient, sympathetic and timely manner. Emily also acted on our behalf for the sale of the same property and following an early abortive sale, she went on to secure another buyer in a vert short timescale and kept in regular contact throughout the sale process to a swift completion. I have nothing but praise for Emily and the staff at Joplings who were always available to take my calls and, if not, always got back to me in a timely manner. Thank you!

My advice would be to avoid this firm. Despite being informed by the tenants of a property they manage of a faulty shower unit they fail to act in a responsible and professional manner resulting in my property suffering water damage from this continuous leaking unit. My wife contacts them this morning to be met with evasive and indifferent behaviour, quite shameful.

Absolutely terrible service from Joplings Thirsk when purchasing my house. As a first time buyer with no chain it should have been fairly straightforward however, it took 8 months. My mortgage advisor and solicitor did ever so much chasing and we were forever given 'such and such is on the phone, they'll call back' and never a call back, always. needed chasing.

We were originally interested in viewing 3 properties with them, only got a viewing at 1, still to this day never had a call back for the other 2 properties 18months later! Definitely wouldn't advise purchasing or selling through them if you can help it!

Incompetent at the best of times. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but having stressful situations and move I really regretted ever coming here. So many issues that they just copy and paste and use the new tenants pictures if they notice them before the final check out after 3 years and they do anything to retain full deposits. Unbelievable. Even at the dispute evidence they exaggerated on things.

Stuff they pointed out was broken at the start and still tried to say I caused it. I could go on. tread carefully with the way this lot are trained. And they use cowboys to do some of the faults. Made some right cockups. Mark Preston plumbers were good as I can't tie everyone with same group. Electrician was good too.

If I could give less than one star, I would. This seems like a case of toxic work culture leading to a complete lack of professionalism. Staff gosip publically about prospective tenants, and make it incredibly hard for anybody who isn't a friend of somebody who works in the office to let a property. Rude and beligerant on the phone, and snide and sarcastic in person.

Critical: Responsiveness We felt like we should be getting paid to try and communicate with Joplings, not vice versa. Very similar to walking backwards through porridge trying to get any information relayed. Would not recommend.

Booked a viewing on a rental property on Saturday in Northallerton through the Thirsk office. nobody turned up! Phoned the office Monday morning and was told the lady in question was on the phone and would ring us back. 5pm, still waiting. Rude and unprofessional!

What an absolute pleasure to do business with Joplings in Ripon. Sam is without question, the most professional and caring agent we have ever dealt with. Start to finish nothing was too much trouble. In all. honesty if it wasn't for her being as enterprising as she is, we wouldn't be in this particular property now! Many thanks Sam.

I can only say I am very impressed with the service ive had from Joplings ive owned properties before and for the last 6 years ive rented and for the last 4 years with Joplings as an example the water boiler stopped working reported 10am Saturday morning by 11am I had an electrician round he identified the problem left to get the replacement parts and was back in 15 mins boiler working by 11.30 I can only say great service guys and much appreciated

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Absolute disgrace! Companies like this are the reason estate agents get such a bad name. We enquired about viewing a house in Melmerby and were told we were 3rd on the list of 18 to view the house. They then said they would contact us when they had the keys. We were told not to worry as due to the demand they would let all 18. view the property, hand the details of anyone interested to the landlord then let him decide.

Two days after the date they were receiving the keys we still hadn't heard anything so contacted Joplings and were told it had gone on the 1st viewing! This is the 4th time we have had bad experiences with these cowboys! One of which was them not turning up to a viewing at all! Disgusting, disgraceful, greedy, lazy, bad communication, no professionalism and a no concern for the tenants or potential tenants.
