We were advised of what the client wanted for the house when our first offer was rejected. We spoke to our financial adviser about increasing our mortgage. Irving Geddes contacted us again and asked us a few days later to resubmit our initial offer so rather than putting in the higher offer that the seller wanted and our mortgage advisor had agreed to, we did as Irving Geddes asked and resubmitted our initial offer and entered into negotiation with them.
There was no closing date set and we were not made aware of any other offers (which would be highly irregular anyway as agents should not be negotiating with more than one buyer at a time). We were willing to go up to this time to the amount the seller had wanted as we had spoken to our mortgage advisor but after requesting we put in our initial offer (that the seller had initially rejected) they just ignored our calls and our solicitor's calls for updates during the negotiation process.
Absolutely awful experience. Lost out on several other homes due to the way they dealt with the situation and worried about where we will go when we have to leave pour own house just before Christmas. We have submitted a formal complaint regarding the whole scenario. Very bad communication and very strange practice going on here.
