One of my family members has been battling depression for a long time, and recently he experienced an episode that was extremely hard on him. Myself and several other family members worked hard to find him a therapist he would be comfortable seeing, and he was very interested in Michael C. Adams' practice. This will be around the third week straight that the people of this company have blatantly ignored us.

I personally have called many times DURING BUSINESS HOURS, but absolutely nobody will answer the phone. My other family members have had the same experience. It doesn't matter if you call as soon as they open, in the late morning, afternoon or near closing time; your call will just be forwarded to voicemail and never returned. In fact, any time I've called before 9am or so, the voicemail message says, "You've reached us after hours" even though their website and business cards clearly state that they open at 8am. Emailing through the company's website is no different.

I've emailed multiple times asking about new patient availability and insurance (nothing crazy, just basic questions anyone would need to know prior to paying for a therapist). To this day, I still haven't gotten a response to any of them. I've actually gone to the office three times as of today. The first time I went alone and spoke to two women at the front desk (after my calls were ignored all morning).

I finally got to ask my questions and was told that there were several reoccurring slots for new patients available, that my family member's insurance would be accepted and that I couldn't schedule an appointment on his behalf, so he would have to call or come in himself and do it. When I asked why nobody was answering the phone or responding to emails, they simply told me they weren't sure what was going on.

I came in a second time with the family member who wanted to see them, and he was immediately told that there were no openings for new patients at all. Once again, this was after calling to schedule an appointment over the phone and being ignored. Today, I came in with another family member to see if the availability had changed. According to their website, this could change daily due to COVID-19, so we thought it would be worth it to check.

Absolutely nobody was at the front desk. I stood out in the hallway to see if anyone was available, and eventually someone happened to walk by and see me. I told her we came to see if they were taking new patients, and she immediately said no, and to check back in a few weeks. She offered no additional information and walked away almost immediately before I could ask her anything else.

As much as my family member wanted to see a professional of this practice, we are all extremely disappointed with the lack of communication on their part. Trying to get ahold of anyone is like trying to pull a tooth, and any time you can speak to someone, it's like they have no interest in helping.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value This is a scam! They modify their photos to hide severe boat damage. Support is non-existent once they get your money. We lost thousands to their scam and hope no one has to go through this experience. Spread the word people we can't let them get away with this!

I had the pleasure of working with Michael and his team on building their new office in Florence, KY. I have nothing but good things to say about this group. They are well organized, pleasant, kind, and professional. I am certain they bring these same qualities to their practice treating patients. During construction, it was clear that their top priority was building a space centered on the comfort of their clients while at the same time being aesthetically pleasing. They succeeded in this. My experience with Michael C. Adams & Associates was sub par. When needing mental health services, urgency is required in getting back to people. I called and left a voicemail about marriage counseling for my wife and I. It took them over 3 days to respond with a voicemail that they currently have a waiting list for marriage counseling that is MONTHS long.

This wasn't my first time reaching out for mental health services for myself, or with my wife. I have never experienced a three day turnaround to basically be told I would have to wait so long. Yes, they did offer a referral, but they should list the wait on their website, or respond sooner so we could have accessed services sooner.

Michael and his whole team have been prompt, compassionate, correct in their assessment, and practical in their recommendations. I can fully recommend this group of professional counselors. I feel like I have known the staff for years!

I really trust the work that Michael, Bryan, Bettie, and their colleagues do. I would happily refer clients with whom I've done my hardest work and care so much for, as well as friends and family to them. I've met these three in person, worked with Bryan and Michael in an ongoing fashion, and communication on the clients' behalf is a top priority. This makes their team a top referral partner for us.

I have been seeing Michael for nearly two years now and he has helped me more than any other therapist I have ever been to (and there have been five before him).
