Abbey Estates

Unprofessional and unreliable. The reason being that the ground level property situated exactly under my flat level was scheduled for demolition works and basement excavation during my tenancy without anyone providing any notice. I had to figure it out by myself the hard way when I returned back from work one day and noticed open holes in the walls and the roof (i.e. photos attached), the fire alarm completely torn apart from vibrations and the internet connection disrupted due to the main cable being hit from the operations downstairs.

When I explained to Abbey Estates team about the seriousness of the situation and the associated safety risks they responded with complete negligence as follows: _ Danielle Hardwicke "With respect, I am not a builder and I will not be able to provide you with an official declaration, but what makes you think this work will pose a safety risk to you?" After various failed attempts to receive any support from them, I had to get in touch with the actual landlord of the property who demonstrated understanding about the situation and explained to Abbey's that they should cut the contract earlier if that was required.

Still after that decision they chose to charge me 180 for the cleaning of a single bedroom flat which was dusty as a result of the vibratory operations which again was not my responsibility. In a separate incident, when I accidentally lost my flat keys after getting back from work I had no alternative as the office was closed and nobody had provided me with the landlord contact details or an emergency number. To briefly recap, my experience with this agency showed me that money is above all even when we are talking about tenant's own safety.

Myself and my wife bought our first family home through Gary this year and i must say he was absolutely fantastic. No task was too small or too large for him, consistently going above and beyond to keep our transaction moving forward as smoothly as possible. I too have worked in the property industry for over 15 years and its lovely to meet such a fine example of what an estate agent should be, i would use him again and recommend him highly. I can't recommend Abbey Estates highly enough. They have sold a property for me in St Albans town centre and currently manage my flat which is being rented. Their service is really 5 star and Gary (the owner) is a pleasure to work with. The flat was rented within a week of going on the market (twice). I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the professionalism of Gary and the whole of his team.

We just want to say a massive thank you for all your teams hard work on the sale of our house. We had most agents from St Albans through to value the property to help us decide whom to sell the property for us. Many agents quoted a higher sale price than you did, but you gave realistic truthful advice that has stood us in good stead these past few months.

My initial reaction was that we should go with your company and my gut instinct was proven correct. Steve has gone out of his way to sell this house for us and has been available to us at all hours of the day and never has seemed frustrated at our calls, and, even if he was, he certainly never showed it. We, on the other hand, have tried to go to see houses as potential purchasers through other agents in St Albans these past few weekends and have been told by one that they were too busy to show us through any properties that weekend, but would get back to us.

Three weeks later I am yet to get a call back from them! I really do not have the words to express our gratitude and I am sure you know this already, but you really do have the best team in St Albans working for you, they are an asset to your company and also are out there working so hard to do their best for each and every vendor that you have, but at the same time made us feel that we were the only vendors you had on your books the service was so personal and second to none.

No word can describe Steve any better than to say that the man was born to sell houses, he has a real passion for his job and is just amazing and is someone that neither of us will every forget. M C
