If I could give Sterling Homes more than 5 stars I would, particularly Jason O'Connell. My partner and I were searching for weeks and weeks for somewhere to rent in Berkhamsted, and had contacted every estate agent in Tring and Berkhamsted. Every agent was the same, we will take your details, but we never heard from them again. Sterling however is hands down the best!
My dad called Sterling to enquire about a property for my partner and, and Jason happened to answer. He said the property we were after was taken, but that another one happened to come on the market that morning. Jason arranged a viewing the same day, and within 24 hours our offer was accepted! We are moving on Friday and could not be happier!. Jason has been fantastic - always on the ball, getting our references and documents turned around in record time!
He even organised a second viewing for us, so we could take measurements for our new furniture. He honestly could not be more friendly or helpful! I couldn't recommend enough.

I heartily recommend to you the team at Sterling Homes Estate Agents in Tring, who provided a highly professional, friendly and responsive (one could say "sterling" - forgive the pun) service selling our property in these difficult times over the last few months, despite complications and delays arising when our buyers' conveyancing firm was struck by a cyber-security breach. Ben very kindly came to visit us several times to discuss marketing strategy with us, producing an excellent portfolio of attractive photographs and descriptions pointing out the features of our characterful home of 20 years. John, Chris and Phil did a great job of easing the whole process, showing prospective buyers around and handling all enquiries in a prompt and proactive way, anticipating the needs of both buyer and seller. I was impressed with Phil Gormley at valuation and chose Sterling Homes as a result. I continued to be impressed throughout the entire process which was very troublesome and laborious. Phil's professionalism, experience and persistent drive helped me through a long probate/title issue, even helping me to change solicitors to achieve a satisfactory completion.
The process took so long to resolve Phil put the property back on sale and sold it again at a higher value. The whole experience of Sterling homes was friendly, collegiate and no stone unturned. Thankyou

Very professional service received from all at Sterling, particularly Ben, Chris, John and Phil. Having had my property for sale with another local agent and no sensible offers in 6 months, Sterling took it on and sold it within days. Regular updates regarding progress was welcomed and someone always was available to speak to. Would recommend Sterling to anyone looking to buy or sell. We highly recommend Sterling Estate Agents! Our experience with Sterling was excellent from start to finish as a seller. John, Lee and Phil in particular, where professional, efficient and responsive throughout the process. I was always amazed at the speed at which John responded to any concerns or questions we had from time to time. He was always willing to assist where-ever possible, which went a long way to ensuring the sale process was as smooth as possible and relieved some of the stress you get with selling your house, as an example, even when our original buyer dropped out, they picked up the challenge and found a new buyer within 2 weeks. I cannot speak highly enough of the Tring Team. They go above and beyond, they work to the highest standards to get the most out of your house sale.

I would not touch this incompetent bunch with a bargepole. They cost us directly about 12k in lost income as TWICE they failed to pass on to us a request from people who are now our neighbours and friends, who were interested in renting the property from us for a year while we waited for planning permission and sold another house.

My experience in renting a house with the help of Rosie is only but a positive one. Rosie was attentive to my questions and answered everything in a timely manner. She was always very friendly whilst displaying the utmost professionalism. I would highly recommend working with Rosie as it made my experience so much better.

We just bought our new home through Sterling Homes in Tring and the service provided was all you could hope for from an estate agent. Quick to arrange viewings, leaving you plenty of time to inspect the house when necessary. Never too pushy but always available for providing advices and answering queries. The purchase went very smoothly indeed and I would recommend them strongly.

I would give no stars if I could. if you are a landlord AVOID this agent. They will not be proactive at all in finding you tenants. They are lazy, unimaginative, charge too high fees for tenants and will just get you to drop the price significantly. Also they try to tie you in beyond what is legal. Awful staff - like car salesmen wide boys. You have been warned. Stay well away.

A bit of a delayed review for good reason. We used Sterling in Tring in 2013. No viewings or contact from the estate agent. I visited the office to tell them we were changing agent and was giving them notice. They asked for another month which I stupidly gave them. No viewings were subsequently forthcoming. When I told them a second time that we were changing agents.
They insisted upon the month's notice. When the notice was up, we changed agents who put our house on at a higher price and it sold within a month. Five years later, Sterling are ignoring GDPR regulations and have started sending me spam emails despite me unsubscribing years ago and on a number of occasions recently.

We put an offer on a house on a Monday with a request for a further viewing on the following Friday. We received confirmation of the appointment and that our offer was being presented to the vendor. We didn't hear anything until lunchtime Friday when we received an email cancelling our appointment because an offer had been accepted. We queried what happened to our offer only to be told that another offer had been accepted the day before (Thursday night) and was more than our offer.
Approximately half hour later a message was left on our phone stating they had 'reminded' the vendor of our (lower) offer and they decided to stick with the higher offer. I called Sterling to query this (why would you put a lower offer forward when you know a higher one has been accepted) but did not get my call returned. We then went to see the vendor as we were getting nowhere with Sterling, he said that Sterling had called around lunchtime that day saying there had been some confusion in the office and they hadn't put our offer forward.
So not only did they lie to us they also tried to cover it up. I then emailed Sterling outlining my concerns following my chat with the vendor. No reply. No apology. Not even an acknowledgement of my email. We tried bidding higher but the vendor has (understandably) stated he does not want to gazump the existing bid. So we have been excluded from the bidding process, lied to, our attempts to bid thwarted by Sterling's incompetence, Sterling have tried to cover up their lies, and still now despite 3 emails to Sterling we have not received an apology, any admissions of mistakes being made, in fact not even an acknowledgement of our concerns.
They have shown a complete lack of customer care. We have been unable to purchase this house purely by the actions of Sterling, nothing to do with ourselves. It's just a sale to them but to us it could have been life changing.
