We started our house buying journey in the Peak District some time ago and after one unsuccessful would be purchase due to events beyond our control Hayley at ELR, Hathersage played a crucial part in helping us secure the house we wanted on a new build small estate. We are now in and love it. Throughout the quite long period both Hayley and Katherine provided professional as well as a friendly and sympathetic service in ensuring we got the best outcome. I highly recommend ELR.

Wouldn't recommend this estate agents at all for letting out your property. I don't think they have you as a landlords best interests. They would let any one rent out your property without proper checks. There is much better ones and ones that are much better to deal with. Avoid these. Terrible.

I've used ELR consistently over the last 12 years and would always recommend them to friends family and work colleagues as I've always received first class service. Having bought sold and arranged lettings through them I can highly recommend their agency. What sets them apart from their competitor set is their attention to detail, integrity and friendliness. Staff are knowledgeable and show a genuine interest in the industry they work in which can take (some of) the stress out of moving house.

After viewing a property to rent with ELR we were clear with them that we wanted to take the property on multiple occasions. We were told by ELR that they had discussed it with the landlord twice and essentially that it was ours to live in from the agreed date, only to be told later that the landlord had decided in the last 12-24 hours to rent the property to a friend instead. We, in the meantime, had cancelled other viewings and are left with little time to look for alternatives.

We were informed via email and when we did call ELR the member of staff was unapologetic and offered no help in rectifying the situation, instead defending the landlord as a 'good' client. We feel have been deliberately misled by both ELR and the landlord. Perhaps most frustratingly, there is a lack of consequences for this kind of malpractice. We have seen that all other reviews of ELR available are also terrible and will resolve to do our research before dealing with a letting agent in future.
