Sadly it's all too common for buyers and tenants to be shown a property by someone who's clearly never visited and knows nothing about it - something which is frustrating for everyone! However at Phillip Mann, all our negotiators in your local office will endeavour to visit your property before marketing begins so they can talk knowledgeably about it.
We've done away with those property descriptions which are loved by agents and loathed by buyers! Instead we write a more 'editorial' style of description which helps people get a proper feel for your property. If you've been house-hunting, you'll know that photos are really important. We'll make sure we take the time to take the shots that will make your property stand out in property listings, and look really good in print and online. We even hire a professional photographer if needed to give your property sale that extra boost.
These days having a good internet presence is crucial - whether attracting buyers from around the world or just around the corner! This is why we'll market your property, complete with photos, descriptions and floorplans, on all the most popular property websites, like Rightmove, as well as this one.
Sadly, it's still all too common for some agents to promise a high price, and then later claim that the market's changed forcing you to drop your price. At Phillip Mann we take a different approach. We'll give you an honest assessment of your property's value, backed up with evidence of similar properties that have sold nearby, and we'll ask for a fair number of weeks to try to achieve a sale at that price.

Really pleased! Recently bought a property through Philip Mann in Newhaven and was really impressed by their professional service. We were kept updated often and they even went the extra mile to facilitate contact with the seller in order to answer our questions and queries about the property making our eventual move a lot easier. Compared to other local estate agents, we received a much better service here and felt we were treated fairly and honestly which helped reassure us whilst buying our first home! Phillip Mann staff have worked tirelessly and professionally with us to effect the sale of our daughter's flat in Newhaven. They have persisted through our need to get certificates validating the cladding of the building as a whole etc, and have consistently followed up queries put to them by potential buyers. We found them kind and thoughtful in their dealings with us. Highly recommend this team!

Worst letting agent in the world I had ever dealt with, rented a 2 bed flat in newhaven, on returning keys to them, they kept all 1400 of deposits, blaming we had not cleaned the property despite it was professionally cleaned via a cleaning company costing us 300, the flat was returned spotless, in fact cleaner than when we moved in! They wanted to persuade us in using their own cleaning company who at the time quoted almost double.
We refused and contacted our own. They also blamed the paintwork throughout the flat needed repainting because we left it in a "bad" state when in fact the paint work had already aged when we moved in. Then the list goes on which I won't list them all out. We took back most of the deposit back via DPS thankfully but just thought we would inform others to stay away from the company.
On another note, they are not the best company in terms of services they offer, the boiler broke down one time and we were left without boiler service for over 2 weeks. When questioned if they are able to arrange for a quicker service, they couldn't care less.

Although they didn't sell me what I was after, they were professional. They did come back to me with updates on a property I placed an offer on and knew the answers to many of the questions I asked. This SHOULD be the norm but so often is not the case. Happy to speak with them again should they have anything of interest.

Phillip Mann Estate Agents are great to work with, Matt in particular is a fantastic negotiator and sales progressor and always sees his sales right through to the end, Nick is lovely to work with and always a joy to speak to as is Paul.
