An incredibly unprofessional and discourteous estate agent. By chance I happened to discover one of the properties listed by the branch on Rightmove etc was using a substantial amount of copyrighted material of mine without permission (or even credit). As the creator of a local history website based on the area of the property in question, I was frustrated that my strictly not-for-profit work was being used for commercial purposes; the website clearly states that permission must be sought for such uses.
I contacted Solent to politely request that the information be removed. A week later and I had received no response. A second email was also ignored. What strikes me is the amazingly arrogant behaviour of a so-called professional firm who have chosen to disregard my legal rights as the copyright owner by continuing to ignore my simple and perfectly fair request in having the information removed. It is not acceptable to be using other people's work without permission for commercial gain.

I called 1st May to arrange a house viewing in Southampton Monday 4th May in the evening. Wasn't a problem at all booking a day or time as the property in question "belongs to a relation of the owner of Solent estate agents". The day of the viewing arrived and I sat on the doorstep outside vacant property early (17:40) as it was booked 17:45. I waited 15 minutes before calling back the estate agent advising them I have been waiting.
The guy I spoke to knew I had it booked but didn't apologise. He promised to call me back in 5 minutes (17:55). I assumed they shut at 18:00. He took my mobile number as well so no excuse he didn't have it. He was insistent "someone should be there". I waited a little longer but did not get a callback. I waited until 18:20 no one came and I left. I did run out of battery on my phone however after recharging my phone I never received any missed calls or voicemail message.
Nor did I the next 3 days. I tried to get in contact a couple of times (4th, 7th, 8th) and no answer either to reschedule a viewing. I then managed to speak to a guy Friday 8th June morning. The guy was rude and had a bad attitude blaming me saying "I thought it was the other way around actually that you didn't turn up" I explained I sat on the door step the whole time I had been waiting (40 minutes).
He replied with "what do you want me to do about it?" I replied back with an acknowledgement, an explaination and most importantly an apology. He was reluctant in doing so, didn't acknowledge how angry I was in wasting my time and also calling me a liar (not a good light considering the owners of the property are relations to the estate agent owner).
He offered me to receive a callback from the manager on the same day in the afternoon after his meeting which I accepted and waited. Surprise surprise which I never received. I have also seen the property has now been instructed to another estate agent based in Southampton not Bournemouth.

Not a great lover of estate agents it has to be said due to previous experiences however on this occasion I am quite happy to give a good review for this company the owner of the agency got back reference the message that I had left regarding a property I was looking to sell within an hour He came across as friendly and professional new obviously the local area which was important arranged an appointment for the next day which was 7 p.m. which I appreciated he gave advice regarding the property was quite honest in giving me pros and cons regarding the property and also pointed out areas where I could perhaps increase the value of the property in short professional on time and informative re the market conditions called into the office 2 Days Later 2 discuss visit paperwork etc that all went smoothly cannot give any negatives good experience

My first point of contact at this estate agents was with a young lad with in the office I believe might have been a trainee he was very polite took all my details and asked if the owner would be able to phone me back that afternoon that was ok for me couple of hours later the owner did phone me back and arranged an appointment that was a convenient time for myself which happened to be 7 p.m. which I thought was quite good considering this is well past office hours advice was given as to how I could increase the value of the property before coming to market the agents was professional polite friendly and knowledgeable on the area which I think is a must all was positive genuinely cannot think of anything negative to say about this experience will update when the property is sold

The main things I want from an estate agent are straight-talking, honesty, professionalism and an ability to sell rather than just show people round a property pointing out the obvious. Mike Hack the owner and his team are all these things and more. Polite and helpful they are a shining example of what a small local independent agency can achieve with basic good manners and hard work. It's not rocket science and should come as standard with every agency, but experience tells me that it doesn't. Great commission rates too. Try them out. You'll be glad you did.
