Jonathan and Ann managed the entire transaction from end-to-end on the recent sale of our home. The initial interface, photographs and associated literature were excellent. The professionalism, politeness and communication from both Jonathan and Ann have been stellar throughout, so thank you both from my Wife and I. The house was advertised, had 12 planned viewings, 7 of which occurred all in 7 days with full asking achieved. Final sale was well over asking so facts speak for themselves. We're all familiar with the general poor quality of many estate agents, particularly in then current strong market where they take buyers for mugs. These people have added a new dimension though - rudeness on an industrial scale I'd made an appointment to view a house is Durham - nice place - unfortunately I couldn't make the viewing so I emailed them to cancel with plenty of notice.

Didn't make a blind bit of difference - at the allotted time miss arrogant called me and without introduction simply accused me of not turning up to an appointment. When I pointed out that I had given them the courtesy of a mail she laid straight into me - to who, when, we didn't get it etc etc I refrained from treating her with the disrespect she showed me and politely ended then conversation.

If you own a rather lovely cottage in Esh and are selling through this shower I suggest you find a more professional outfit whose employees understand common courtesy I will not do business with this agency again

I can strongly recommend J W Wood who have provided an excellent service throughout the sale of our house. As we have been away from the property during the process it was particularly important to select an agency who could manage things for us from 'soup to nuts' and it has been a real pleasure to deal with Ann and her colleagues. A word too for Chris who has given us a lot of confidence in his professional advice at times when we've been struggling a bit with making decisions.

Clearly there are many other routes to sell your property in Durham, but it seems to me that there is a strength in depth with Woods which has meant that their speed of responsiveness and attention to detail is unlikely to be bettered.

Brilliant service from JW Wood and I could not fault them. Amanda Killops dealt with me from start to finish and she was always very pleasant and approachable. I have never sold a property before and she was always there to answer any questions I had and nothing was a bother to her. She rang me every week to keep me informed as to what was going on with the sale process and she was always a pleasure to speak to. I would not hesitate to use JW Wood again and would highly recommend them to others.

After some initial issues with my first point of contact at JW Woods (who I believe has now left the company), we completed on the purchase of our family home. Ann and Elaine took over as my points of contact and really pulled it out of the bag for me. They were both so helpful and gave me some excellent advice, I'm really grateful to both of them, they're a credit to JW Woods.

We didn't have a straight forward transaction so I did have quite a bit of contact with Ann in particular and she always made me feel like she had my best interests at heart. I'd definitely recommend JW Woods, the only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is due to the issues I experienced at the beginning of my transaction but this was in relation to employees who no longer work at JW Woods.

I instructed JW Wood on a probate sale and dealt with Ashley until the sale was agreed and Samantha thereafter. Due to the distance involved, I never met either of them personally but both provided an excellent service and were good communicators.
