Paul, Branch Manager, personally came to value our home as we were considering putting our house on the market. The valuation he gave was backed-up with a personalised property report, current market trends and years of experience. The service and advice was constructive and concise with a clear plan of action in taking the property to market. I have been a landlord with Beresford's Billericay office since 2002 and have always found Lauren & her team (Lynn Ray in particular) highly professional while delivering good quality tenants quickly & efficiently. I have had only one issue since 2002 which was resolved quickly and to my satisfaction and I believe I have established a very good working relationship with Beresford's and they always at the end of the phone on the few occasions that I have needed sound advice and a professional opinion.

Fantastic service received from everyone I have dealt with at Beresfords. They are proactive and will do everything they can do to ensure a smooth and rapid sales process. Their communication is great and they respond to queries quickly, even late into the evenings. I would definatly recommend them!

Took over a month to return my tenancy deposit. The communication about it was really bad - they went completely silent after I checked out, I had to send lots of emails to chase and some of them were ignored. They couldn't give me timings for when it would happen. I had to open a dispute with the deposit protection service just because there was no end in sight.
There was no apology for the delay. This was very clearly business as usual for them. This wasn't because there was a dispute about deductions. It was just radio silence. In the end they didn't even want to make any deductions. It's a shame to have to leave this review. During the tenancy I thought they were quite good. They were responsive and happy to deal with maintenance issues.
They did try to inspect the property during a national lockdown, which I thought was a bad & unethical decision on their part, but they were at least happy to cancel it for our property on request. However, I think leaving a 1 star review just based on the deposit is completely justified. They need to understand is that keeping a large sum of peoples' money for so much longer than the government's mandated 10 days is completely unacceptable.
They tried to blame the landlord's lack of responsiveness. That is not a reasonable excuse. They are holding the money, and they are working on the landlord's behalf. I feel extremely strongly that this sort of treatment of tenants needs to improve. Edit: In response to the reply from Beresfords: I don't think it's fair to pass the blame to the landlords.
I don't accept the claim that you 'legally' could not return the deposit according to some law, other than because it was in your contract with the landlord, which written by you and could be changed. If I'm mistaken I'd love to know where I can read about this supposed law. It feels like a convenient excuse or sob story to absolve yourself of responsibility from what is a genuinely unacceptable practice.
At the very least, you could very easily be putting more pressure on landlords. The fact I heard nothing from you until the second or third time I got in touch, weeks after I checked out, suggests it's absolutely not on your priority list to ensure tenants get their money back quickly.

I have been dealing with Lynn at the Billericay Branch who has been letting our company properties for the last few years. I have always found Lynn and the rest of the wider team at Beresford's to be very helpful, knowledgeable and responsive to all of my questions and requests. I can highly recommend them!

I have been most impressed with the service that the Lettings team at Beresfords in Billericay have given me. Having used a smaller agency in the past, I am staggered at the difference in level of service. Their communication, inventory service and knowledge of the local market has been outstanding. I would highly recommend them, particularly Lynn Ray, she is an asset to your organisation.

Bought a house through Beresford. The sales team were exceptional. Worked with Shirley who was professional, efficient and usually responded to any communication on the same day or if it was something out of her control she kept us updated throughout. Shirley was able to progress our purchase quite quickly. We also came across Paul who helped us with a second viewing and he was very good and knowledgeable.
We were renting our old property so we decided to use Beresford for the letting due to how pleased we were with the sales team. Initially, we found the lettings team a bit slow which was frustrating for us. The letting of our property is a business for us and speed is imperative. We were going to appoint another agent to take over the letting when we were introduced to Lizzie who is an absolute asset in the lettings.
We stayed with Beresford lettings as a result of the service we received from Lizzie. She would keep us up to date, managed to find us a tenant quite quickly and she understood our situation. Lizzie has great people skills and is efficient. We also found Linn very helpful.

I am in the process of purchsing a property through Beresfords Colchester branch and have found the team in particular Charlie to be very very helpful, honest and professional and feel he has gone over and above his role and responsibilities at every stage, providing continuity has been key in confidence of the process for me personally. Colchester We are very happy with absolutely everything up until this day. Gabby was absolutely brilliant as she was dealing with our application. Very professional, helpful. It was very straight forward and no stress. Sophie dealt brilliantly when we had some issues with our dishwasher. We have been informed of every step taken and issue was resolved very quickly. The whole Beresfords experience made finding our next home stress free. The whole office, (especially Lynn) were brilliant arranging a fast viewing, negotiating our offer, and then getting us a date to move in. I wish I sold my house with them last year and recommend everyone to give them a call should they need to buy/sell or rent a property. 5* review from us.
