I moved out of a Scott Fraser managed property over a month ago, and they haven't been in touch regarding the refund of my deposit. I called up last week only to find out that the person who was originally managing my flat no longer works there, and all of her work is assigned to another person. I tried to contact this person by telephone and email several times last week, and received 0 response.
This kind of communication is truly unacceptable, especially when it's a large sum of money being overdue for over a month. Currently the issue is still awaiting to be resolved. I advise whoever is responsible get in touch with me now.

We have rented a property with the help of this business. From not having a working shower for the first December in that property(for about 3 weeks), with a one year old, and when I've mentioned that we need some cot outs from the rent, because no matter how understandable one can be, this is not acceptable. To fast forward know, moving out, speaking almost every time with a different person. Emailing them the proof of booking a cleaning company for the property upon our move out.
To them giving us the report of the property one month after we finished our contract, and two weeks after the new tenants moved in. Nobody in this time contacted us to tell us that it seems the cleaning was not done by an approved cleaning company that they work with, and nobody contacted us after the review check was done to tell us the cleaning was not done properly.
We had moved out 3 weeks before our tenancy finished. An that leads us to this moment in time, when I am waiting for our deposit back, agreeing to pay extra for the extra cleaning that was made, yet nobody showed me any proof of this alleged payed cleaning. A month a week since the tenancy finished and still no deposit back. When I've contacted them to coaming about all of this, I was told that de shower ''thing'' is our fault for not complaining officially about it, and the rest is our fault, and if we are not happy we can write a complaint to the complaint office, but nothing will come out of it basically.

Joanna was our Property Manager and was great. It was our first experience of letting and she guided us all the way, efficiently and professionally. She responded very quickly to any queries we had and we felt that we could talk to her about anything however small. It was nice working with Jo and we wish her and the whole team well.

Gareth and the Lifestyle team at Scott Fraser have recently managed the refurbishment of the bathroom in my rental property. Communication was excellent and the appointed contractor listened and followed my directions and was helpful in making a number of suggestions to complete the works on time. Very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend.

We have only just moved in to our new property with Scott Fraser but so far so good! They have made the transition from one property to another very smooth and I am particularly impressed with the response speed of emails. During working hours, I have received replies within minutes! When our boiler broke recently, the Scott Fraser Property Management team were fantastic. They arranged for an inspection the following day and then replacement the following working day. Their effort and consideration meant that, despite the pandemic and recent snow, our broken boiler was replaced within 3 working days, for which we are extremely grateful!

We've had an excellent experience with Scott Fraser and with Gareth Thomas, who has managed the total refurbishment of our property's bathroom and heating system. This was done under very challenging circumstances - during the days of the coronavirus pandemic and within a very tight time schedule. Despite the many difficulties due to the pandemic, Gareth managed to complete the project right on time and to our full satisfaction.
The communication with Gareth was always very pleasant, and he was patient and attentive to our various requests, going out of his way to make sure that all our wants and preferences be met within a reasonable price. We're extremely pleased with the outcome - both the beautiful bathroom and the new heating system. We fully recommend Scott Fraser, as well as Gareth Thomas as a professional, efficient, reliable and pleasant project manager.

Scott Fraser have been the most fantastic letting agents - providing the best service from our first contact through to ongoing maintenance. We initially contacted the Headington lettings branch, as complete novices to the rental market. We met with Katie Finch, who was able to give us brilliant advice regarding our property search. Katie understood our needs and helped us find a perfect property, during the Covid-19 circumstances.
From viewing the property to having the keys, was an incredibly fast process and we felt supported throughout, thanks to Kierra Lamburn. The move was super easy and we were so impressed with the cleanliness and overall presentation of the property. We have since been liaising with Luke Souch within the property management team. Luke has been fantastic, providing ongoing support as we settle into our new home.

We have had a wonderful experience with Scott Fraser. We recently moved here from the States and had to rent a place sight unseen. They were very helpful about supplying every detail we could want and answering our many questions. Zoe Warwick at the Banbury Road office was well-informed, friendly and professional. They were so kind as to bring an Oxford friend of ours to the house to look it over and take more pictures for us.
Once we made our decision, the letting part was handled in a clear and business-like manner. The house was in perfect condition when we arrived. We were really pleased with the high standard of everything here. The agency is very responsive whenever we need anything. Chris Carter at the Headington office very kindly came over recently to explain the heating system in greater detail and has answered many other queries. Scott Fraser were really good with us. We stayed in one of their flats for one year and never had any problems. They even helped us talk to the landlord to arrange a new cooker fitting. Very pleased overall. If I had one negative it would be the slightly high charges we had to pay, one of which was a 'checking out' fee.

I am the proud owner of a special property in Oxford and have employed Scott Fraser to find suitable tenants who would look after the house as well as I would do. So far they have not let me down: they have listened to my concerns and understood what was important to me and the whole team has been very professional and attentive. After James Hindson was able to find what sounds like the the perfect tenants in very little time, Christopher Carter has been very helpful and responsive in leading on the communication with the tenants and the day-to-day management of the property.
I have been SF's client only for 4 months but I would definitely recommend the team to landlords who would like a higher standard of service and the certainty that their property is well looked after.

I lived in a house of University students from 2010/2011 which we rented via Scott Fraser. During the tenancy they were a little slow to respond to our complaints (in particular, it took two months and multiple reminders for them to repair a broken wall at the front of the house). Perhaps you expect inefficiency and hesitation in a letting agent, I'm not sure perhaps that makes them a 3/5 organisation.
Where Scott Fraser really screw you over is at the end of your tenancy. It may be too late for '11/12 tenants, but I recommend all 2012/13 to find an alternative. Scott Fraser will bill you when you come out and when you come in 560 as an 'application fee', plus charges for guarantors, plus 'estate agent fees'and we paid about 650 to leave again. I'm most annoyed about the leaving bill.
This was our experience: we cleaned the house thoroughly ourselves, and were initially given ludicrous bill of approaching 800, to be taken off our deposit. The problem we faced was not the fact that we had to pay to clean the windows/carpets/furniture/rest of the house/inventory, but that SF charged us frankly too much for all of them: their inventory bill was advertised as 'from 95', and came to 198. SF employed cleaners who charged 20 an hour, about double the standard rate.
About a hundred pounds was in petty 'compensation damage for x', and we ended up spending over 200 on 'carpet and upholstery cleaning'. When we complained we received a reduction of about 120. This is only generous if we forget that that approximately 650 remains. In short, I do not believe Scott Fraser feels responsible for its tenants or that it works in their interests.
Ultimately SF rely on the fact that students are unable to properly contest bills and their ability to escape unnecessarily high charges is extremely limited. I can tell from fellow students that Scott Fraser is worse than the industry standard, and I recommend that you avoid whenever possible.

We rented through Scott Fraser's Summertown lettings office for a period of 7 months before buying. The staff were always polite, courteous and responsive a boiler problem during the harsh winter was attended to immediately. It is obvious that Scott Fraser have high standards in terms of the properties they manage, and in acting on behalf of both tenants and landlords.
As tenants we were given clear instructions and paperwork related to ours and the landlord's obligations. All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to family & friends, and we would gladly have them looking after our property if we were to rent it out.
