Since starting our career with Amos, myself (Darren) and Colin have helped grow the company into the area's best known estate agent. Working in the area our entire adult lives has given us an intimate understanding of the community and we are both committed to maintaining the high standards of service that have become synonymous with the Amos name. As citizens and businessmen, we believe in social responsibility and putting something back into the communities that we serve.
During the 1990s and the early 21st century, Leigh-on-Sea went through more change: the growing dominance of out-of-town, 24-hour supermarkets and retail parks, as well as the arrival and popularity of retail online shopping. This meant that much local business had to reinvent itself, either as venues for socialising, or to offer niche services and products to cater for the town's changing demographic.
Hockley is a large village and civil parish in Essex and is located between Chelmsford and Southend-on-Sea. Hockley is an Anglo Saxon word meaning small hill and there is still a large wooded area located close to our office called Hockley Woods. There are particular building's within the village which are to be mentioned such as; The Church of St Peter and Paul, which was possibly built before the twelfth century, a thirteenth-century chancel and a fourteenth-century tower.
Rayleigh is an attractive market town and civil parish in the District of Rochford in Essex. It is located between Chelmsford and Southend-on-Sea some 32 miles (51 km) to the east of central London. It had a population of 30,196 in 2001, increasing to 32,150 at the census 2011. The connection with deer continued through the centuries as lands around Rayleigh were used as royal hunting forests for many hundreds of years and a deer was included in the coat of arms of Rayleigh Urban District Council. The town has grown considerably in the last 25 years including a number of new housing developments and local amenities providing a well served, popular residential area.

Dear Reader, I used this agency to find a property for my partner so that she could live close to her parents. I have rented property before. Usually the experience is not to over complicated, not too stressful and runs witha degree of professionalism - not with Amos Estates, Hadleigh. This company are a complete joke, I paid my money to the blond manageress and signed a single form.
The fun began! I spent the next 6 weeks chasing the agent, nagging them to complete the transaction and doing my utmost to ensure that things ran smoothly. Suffice to say, they did not! I did not end up moving into the property because of the sheer rudeness of not only the manageress but also the director (clearly a shining example to all, of how not to run a business).
Should you decide to use this agency, trust me it will not be a pleasant experience, not only will you have to do all the chasing & organising but when you complain - you get a mightly large two fingers!
