I am currently in the process of moving jobs and moving to a new area and have had exceptional service through Richard James Estate Agents - specifically with Ellis-Rose. She has been quick at getting back to me and supporting with an online viewing when I wasn't in the local area to view my new property in person. I would certainly recommend the Richard James team to anyone looking to rent a property in the local area!

Arranged with Richard James to have my house valued for rental, the process was simple and received a welcome back about who was coming to the house and what the business was about. Grace Dobie arrived for the appointment at the correct time, Grace was very professional and knowledgeable about the market and gave me lots of the correct information to allow me to sign up on the day. Great service from Grace!

Richard James always deliver. They sold my parent's large detached house in Lakeside before it was even advertised and at full asking price despite of the pandemic. Josh and Julia Barrow really went out their way to help. Richard James helped us to find our first house. Their agents have been very friendly and available to show us the property more than once without any objections and always allowing us all the time we needed for the viewing. They were also very flexible in rescheduling appointments. My biggest thank you, though, goes to Julia Borrow, who assisted us during the whole purchase procedure. I want to say a massive thank you to Jade Wilkes at Richard James for the amazing support with the sale of my property. Selling a flat in the cladding crisis naturally had its challenges and the level of communication and support was great. Her friendly and professional approach was very much appreciated and really was such a pleasure having the support in a stressful time. DO NOT USE THIS ESTATE AGENTS! Terrible service during renting period! moved into dusty uncared property BUT when moving out they want to be cleaned as a new house! They will make any excuses to rob your money such as a small light ball for 10! a tiny water mark for 10! etc. VERY RUDE staffs!

After moving out the estate agent pulled the we want 50 for fixing the window sill that you repaired as you never told the 'landlord'!. We had advised the estate agent, as we never spoke to the landlord and the estate agent has to do that part, within a week of moving in that the window sill was poorly left as it was only taped over and was leaking water from surrounding area and underneath the sink which was a hazard.

They had replied to the mail as they was a number of other issues that they needed to address but as this was not in their reply it suggested that the work we did was acceptable an if they wanted to check they had plenty of trades people round fixing the numerous other issues. Also they wanted 50 for cleaning when they knew i could only do a 'check' at the weekends as I work abroad.

They found some extra areas that needed further cleaning that I could have done with another 1hr but choose to decline this and I suspect they saw this as another opportunity to make money

They only get a star because the system won't let me do less. To be realistic they deserve minus 10 stars. Whoever I've spoken to over the phone at RJ Swindon- they all leave pretty much the same impression outlined above. I am surprised they make enough turnover to survive and pay their bills. People shouldn't use their services. Noone deserves to be their client.

Rude and obnoxious staff - particularly the females. I've only rented from them for 5 months and have already put in two complaints about how I've been spoken to. If I were to want a further 6 months' tenancy on my current property - which I don't - it would cost me around 70 for an "admin" fee. Also, I've noticed that the property was first advertised in January at 595.00: an advert which was quickly replaced with a rent of 650.00. The same property is now to let for 695.00. Terrible agency and scandalous that they can still get away with it.
