Bentons was established over 40 years ago in Melton Mowbray by Alastair Benton, who initially set-up to provide professional advice to local farmers and landlowners. Alastair was joined by James Warne in the 1990s to build on Bentons early success to progress the residential sales and lettings departments of the business and together they created one of the largest and leading estate agency and professional practices in the East Midlands.

We currently let and manage a portfolio of over 600 residential and commercial properties throughout the East Midlands from studio apartments to large country homes.
Bentons offer a friendly and experienced Agricultural department, providing all year around support to farmers and land owners. We assist the local and wider farming community with all Agricultural matters. In addition to our main office, we have a further busy office at the Melton Mowbray Cattle Market, which provides support and advice to local farmers on current issues arising in the farming sector which can be discussed and then followed up with one to one meetings either at the office or the farm.

Great experience with Bentons, very thorough but speedy with all processes. Very happy to be settling in to our new home already and knowing that they are only a phone call or email away if we need anything! Robyn was great during the process of our house move. She is very easy to talk to and always open for any questions that we had or help that we needed throughout the application and referencing processes. Toni has been a fab property manager for us during our first house move, she is so easy to talk to, always ensuring that we can contact her if ever we need anything! It was a pleasure to meet Toni, she was both professional and friendly. Obviously very good at her job as she pointed out all the repairs and possible replacements the house needs, I was very impressed and felt reassured that she would organise everything that needed to be done. Catherine has done a brilliant job in managing our property. She gives timely and succinct expert advice so that we can make a decision on managing the property quickly and with very little effort. In the last exit inspection report, she checked the property thoroughly, taking clear photographs throughout and, in the summary, she pointed out the main areas which needed attending to by ourselves in terms of maintenance.
She automatically obtained quotes that we could consider, so we knew what the cost would be to bring the property up to scratch without wasting any time in remarketing the property, as this could potentially affect our income. For various reasons, the sale of our property proved to be lengthy and difficult. Many times during the process we felt thankful that we had selected Bentons to handle the sale because they acted throughout with great skill and professionalism. Dealing with them on a day to day basis was a pleasure as their staff without exception acted with just the right blend of friendliness and professionalism.
