Services
Fraser Grant is a family-owned, independent business and have been successfully renting and managing properties for over 30 years. We specialise in homes in Jesmond and the immediate surrounding areas and stand out as one of Newcastle upon Tyne's longest established lettings agencies always aiming to go the extra mile.
Life in a Fraser Grant home couldn't be easier. Whether it's using our online property portal which keeps track of your rental payments, lets you report maintenance and access all of your important safety documents in one place to phoning our office to have a chat about any concerns you may have or our out of hours emergency contact - we really have everything covered. That's why many of our student tenants stick with Fraser Grant throughout their time in Newcastle.
As a professional, we understand that circumstances can change quickly - we are on hand to help you look for the perfect new home. Whether you are new to Newcastle upon Tyne or have lived here for many years, our expert property managers are here to answer your questions. Our onboarding process is assisted by our property management system - which allows you to complete all paperwork, upload documents and sign your tenancy from the comfort of your own home.
We often receive enquiries for the following academic year (2021/22) particularly from students who may be studying abroad or leaving Newcastle for a placement year. We aim to assist with your options - and whilst not a guaranteed list of our available homes, as it is dependent on whether our current tenants renew and will be subject to a rent review - it should provide an indication of the size and standard of our properties.

Long term tenant on behalf of the owner, The Cottage at the heart of Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne. Located in the St George's parts. I have had a wonderful 2 years and not for the first time. The Cottage is a comfortable 1 bedder with full amenities and utilities, both a joy in the summer and winter alike. Not far from where it all happens yet more than private enough.
I would highly recommend and make much gratitude to all involved especially the team at Fraser Grant, that I see. Easy entry and exit conditions. A very wise investment both in terms of finance and time. Very grateful, hope to do again in the future. Many regards Neil James Buckley. May 2020- May 2022

Me and my partner moved into one of their properties for my final year at University and were extremely impressed with Ellen and her team at Fraser Grant. From the start to finish of our tendency, they were always quick to dealing with matters and always friendly. Would recommend to any student of professional looking to move in Newcastle.

Fraser Grant were very responsive to any issues I had whilst living in a property under their management. Ellen and Charles are great people who look out for their tenants. The flat itself was really good quality and value compared to most rental properties in Newcastle- especially compared to university accommodation.

Fraser Grant have been ideal during our tenancy, they were very helpful and responsive. Hosting prize draws during lockdown was a very fun way of engaging with their tenants. All communications were well detailed, ie. Cleaning to do list for end of tenancy. Ellen our agent was always very friendly and responsive.

Fraser Grant have been excellent throughout this pandemic year. They were always responded within a day and did a great job of managing the property, which was a great help for the final year of university. We had a couple of household appliances (fridge/washing machine) that needed replacing and they managed to find and replace these without any fuss. They made both the moving in and out phase of the property much easier by being available as well as understanding. I would highly recommend them and their great team.

I stayed in a 2 bed apartment, our property managers Ellen and Andrew were professional and certainly helped me feel at ease about moving in and out. Me and my flatmate were able to use Arthur Online to manage our tenancy, report issues, and access relevant documents which was really useful. Any issues that we reported were responded to within 24 hours, with the option to use an emergency line (that we fortunately didn't need to use). 5 star experience the year round

Found Fraser Grant agents online through spare room after they advertised a room within a professional house share. Very swift and accommodating with the viewing and always prompt with my enquires. They knew I was a nurse so if viewings or work needed carried out within the house, they would be respectful and quiet if needed. Never had any issues with the house and things were always dealt with promptly.
I stayed in the house for 2 years and it has honesty been the best renting experience for me, after living in the NE for over 5 and a half years solely renting. I would've stayed longer however I am planing to move abroad! Ellen has always been my go to and I can not credit her enough! Thank you for everything. Would recommend!

I rented from Fraser Grant for a year and would recommend them for the following (especially for students): -Lower agency fees than many other Jesmond estate agents (ours were 120 compared to 200 at other estate agents we looked at) -Friendly and professional service from all the staff - it was our first time renting and they made sure everything went smoothly with the tenancy, giving us plenty of advice on how to avoid unexpected charges -The incredibly high standard of the properties, both the one we chose to move in to and the others we looked at; compared to the average student house, they're fantastic - literally spotless when we moved in, with very new furniture and fittings.
The only downside of this is that it's expected to be left in the same spotless condition, which is actually very difficult to do. However, they do a handy 'check out inspection' where you get a verbal list of everything that needs doing; this allowed us to get the property back to the condition we found it in, with no loss of deposit money -We had 60 of damages to the property, but they still returned our full deposit, as a 'gesture of goodwill' due to us leaving the property in otherwise good condition, and probably because we didn't kick up a fuss.
To not be charged for anything was a real surprise and obviously very good on Fraser Grant's part. My one complaint would be that they are sometimes a little slow to reply on important emails, but when I rang to chase these up they would then resolve things quickly. Other than that though, we found them to be reasonable, and I'd recommend them.

AWFUL! Had the worse experience with this estate agency. Be very very careful getting involved with them. Many of the ways they dealt with things seemed very unprofessional and put us in awkward positions. If you have any problems during a tenancy, don't expect it to be fixed any time soon, or at least expect to be pointed the finger at in any way possible.
We were left without working appliances for unacceptable amounts of time. I would highly recommend you take pictures of the state of the property when you move in, down to the tiniest scratches and even dirt in drawers as you better believe it will come down to specks of dust when they inspect at the end of your tenancy and try to scam you out of money from your deposit. Don't accept any charges before seeing proof that these changes are being made to the property for the next tenants! Would not wish the stress and headaches upon anyone that this agency caused us and I now make sure anyone I know who is looking at properties avoids them like the plague!

We went with Fraser Grant Agency and rented a beautiful property. The actual house had nothing wrong with it apart from the few minor things that go wrong with houses on a yearly basis. We did have some problems that Fraser Grant did NOT respond to within a quick time, or at all- for instance, disputes with noise and abuse (yes, verbal and physical.) from neighbours also renting from Fraser Grant, and those neighbours leaving rubbish on communal areas for months (about 5.) did not get dealt with throughout the whole tenancy period.
When we finished our tenancy at the propery (we did not want to stay with Fraser Grant for another year after their poor service) we got a very large deduction from our deposit for 'dust' in the house (we had vacated the house for only a week and spent three days cleaning the whole house) and dirty windows/hallway, which we had actually left in the same state as Fraser Grant had given us (in fact, it was a lot cleaner than the state they had given us the house in). Very unhappy with the agency on the whole and would reccomend finding someone else. They also have VERY pushy sales people.
