I've recently rented a place through Hicks Hadley and my experience with them could not have been better. I've always had to nag lettings agents in the past and felt they never knew quite what they were doing or why, but Hicks Hadley couldn't be further from that. From the start, they were incredibly responsive and professional, answering any questions I had and chasing things for me.
The whole process was incredibly quick and easy, and I was always well informed of progress and next steps. The people I spoke to were always really friendly and happy to help. Hicks Hadley has fully managed our properties for several years. We have found the staff who work there to be extremely professional and efficient in managing the properties, the tenants and liaising with us the landlords. We are always kept informed of all aspects of the letting process and maintenance issues are always dealt with efficiently using the variety of contractors the company has working for them.

Earlier in the year I went to view a property with a Hicks Hadley agent, the lady turned up to meet me and was unsure which flat we were viewing. We proceeded to walk around for 15 minutes to look for the correct flat, I found this weird but thought nothing of it and didn't end up purchasing the flat anyway. I had no intention of leaving a review because it was a bit unprofessional but also didn't really matter. However, 2 weeks ago I attempted to view a flat in Halesowen, the lady on the phone told me that there is a tenant living there so there would be an agent attending the viewing too.
I turned up at 7:30pm, there was no agent so I attempted to ring the buzzer, there was no answer from the tenant. I appreciate that this is not the fault of the agent, however I had made a 45 minute drive to be there, and had no contact number or anything to follow up with. The real issue is how this was then dealt with. When I called the next day to explain, instead of an apology I was told 'an agent wouldn't be at the viewing if its out of hours' - this was repeated a few times.
I had to then explain I am not arguing that this is procedure, I am just stating that this is what was said to me on the phone. Nobody answered and I was stuck outside. I asked if I could be the next person to view the property when it was rescheduled, due to never being let in, which I never found out the reason for. I spoke with a man and I was told I could have a slot to view the premises on a Wednesday evening, being the first available slot.
I then get a phonecall the day before this saying the property was viewed before I had the chance to look and it has now been sold. It seems very unfair that after through no fault of my own I could not view and specifically asking to view next after not being given access - that I don't even get the opportunity to view and make an offer. This entire business seems to be built on a lack of communication.
I am not going to name individual names etc, because its pointless when the issue is clearly wider than people and more to do with processes. However, the reluctance to see the mistakes made and acknowledge/apologise just left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I was very shocked to see how many 5 star reviews they have on Google, but after looking closer I see than the majority of these accounts have only reviewed Hicks Hadley, so the chances are there is a scheme that offers reward for a good review, or they are family and friends. Fingers crossed that when I do buy something, that it is not listed through Hicks Hadley, as I imagine the point of viewing would just be the beginning of the problems.

Sue was lovely when my wife & I had our 1st meeting with her, she was very reassuring to us both about moving forward with the sale of our house. The photos & write up of our property was very professionally done & the attention to detail was clear to see.
