Abson Blaza Property Services As a firm of Independent Chartered Surveyors we can help you whether you are buying or selling a property. We can also undertake valuations in connection to shared ownership & help to buy, whether you are looking to sell or purchase, divorce and probate/tax purposes.
Services
We can offer advice on the sale and letting of both residential and commercial properties and advice and valuation on the disposal of land suitable for redevelopment. We have occupied the same Office in Pontefract Town Centre since 1986 where our friendly and personal attention is second to none. Our staff are local to the area and are there to help and guide you through either the sale or letting of your property. We offer a FREE and without obligation valuation service if you are thinking of selling your property.
In addition to selling a property valuations may be necessary for a number of reasons and expert professional advice at such times is essential. We undertake valuations for many of the leading finance lenders in the country to undertake Qualified valuations on their behalf. The best way to reach an informed decision on such an important investment as buying a home is to commission a professional survey and valuation which suits your needs and is appropriate for the type of property in question.Obtaining your own survey is a simple, cost-effective way of avoiding unpleasant (and often costly) surprises after moving in.

I was asked to get a valuation from a RICs surveyor when paying off my help to buy. The whole process with Abson Blaza was really easy. They quickly booked me an appointment and then sent the valuation shortly afterwards. I have had to request an extension due to solicitors taking too long. I rang yesterday and received it an hour later! Excellent, efficient service.

Offered a valuation with no real exaplination which resulted in a sale falling through. To put it into context we have had further valuations conforming our original asking price. Spent a whole 10 mins in the property after Turing up late as well. Looking at the other reviews on hear I'm not surprised. Was very difficult to contact regarding an exaplination of the valuation, would still be intreinter to see this.

Staff are trained to be as evasive as possible. Make sure you do your own research because the friendly staff are not afraid to guess answers to your questions and they might get things wrong in their favour. I would recommend looking elsewhere if at all possible.

I found Steve to be very prompt and efficient. We had a Help to Buy valuation for redemption on sale and he arrived on time, carried out a valuation and let us have the report very quickly. Easy to deal with and hassle free. I would recommend as when selling a house it's nice to deal with someone and it be a stress free experience.

Called for information on a commercial property that they had available to let- didn't have a clue what I was talking about and said that she would call me back with more information and never got back in touch.

We engaged Abson Blaza to conduct a valuation on a shared ownership property in conjunction with WDH. Stephen Abson provided a valuation which fell so far away from expectations we asked for justification. After several weeks we received none so sought a second opinion. The property was valued 10-15% higher than market value as verified by a another accredited valuer. Abson Blaza refuse to engage in conversation or discuss the matter with us. Stephen Abson refused to share his valuation report, despite having a named and signed contact with us as well as a direct payment from the individuals stated on the contract.

He had to request this after much hassle from WDH. When we received this report we also (most likely accidentally) received an email chain which revealed that Stephen Abson mislead us in his contract stating he had never valued the property before however in his communications with WDH stated he had worked at the property before, compromising his objectivity.

Mr Abson also stated he had no prior connections to any party involved, however it has now come to light he and his firm have significant commercial relationships with WDH and even family members have worked their previously - severely compromising his objectivity. Please, if you wish to get a fair and independent valuation on a property DO NOT use this firm.

If you are staircasing on a shared ownership property with WDH you can use any RICS accredited valuer, you don't have to use the 'approved' list which WDH supply you with. I'm sure that like Abson Blaza, they have a vested interest in providing services which are in favour of WDH in order to maintain the level of business which comes both directly from WDH but also from their referrals. I hope this helps and you can avoid the nightmare of wasted time and money we have had to endure.
