Spark & Son is the best real estate letting agent in Brighton United Kingdom. Professionalism and great services! I am a new comer from Melbourne, Australia. All Spark & Son agents are so helpful, not just finding me a place to call home in UK, also gave me a brief introduction of Brighton areas. I really appreciate their services. Oliver was very professional and very nice. He made sure that everything worked well and that the accommodation was furnished and painted. He added additional time to his just to bring the keys to my working office and make me do the visit. I totally recommend Oliver and this letting Agents!

We let our flat through Spark & Sons for 10 years and recently sold it through them. At every step of the way, Peter Spark helped us through the process, kept us informed and gave us great advice. We felt very much part of a professional team. Highly recommended.

I've seen lots of current tenants leave positive reviews however I'm not sure they'll have the same feelings when they have to leave. I rented with Spark & Sons for 3 years and always thought they were fine. However when I moved out it took emails to 3 staff members and 8 phone calls over a span of 4 weeks to get my deposit back. They still to this day haven't replied to my emails, just transferred my money with no email confirmation.

Now I'm in a new flat I also realise the flat rented with Spark & Sons was very badly maintained. Worrying considering it was newly 'renovated' when I moved in. Wouldn't rent with them again.

Our experience renting with Oliver, from Spark and Sons, was very good! He exceeded our expectations for an agent. He was very helpful during the process, replied to all of our questions, and made sure everything that we noticed that wasn't working properly got fixed. The process was very quick and easy, and Oliver's warmth and sense of humour was very refreshing, making us feel very comfortable.

We have recently rented a newly renovated flat through Oliver at Sparks & Sons. Oliver was friendly, helpful and good-humoured throughout. There were a few teething problems with some of the renovation work and Oliver got these quickly resolved - this has not been our experience with other agents who sometimes let things drag on. Overall we were really pleased with the service we received and would highly recommend.

Our experience with Sparks and Sons has been very good - we had Oliver as our primary agent and he was friendly and helpful from the first viewing to getting the keys, and still in touch via email. Everyone at the office was polite and relaxed. 10/10 would recommend

I recently moved house while under a lot of pressure from my previous landlord and agent and Oliver at Sparks and Sons was a great help. Made the application process super easy and didn't pressure me into making decisions unlike other agents did. We had a hiccup with our move-in process and Oliver communicated with us very quickly and made us feel very secure in an uncertain situation. I have no doubt that if we need help in the future that Oliver will be a great help. Best experience with a letting agent I have had!

To Peter, Adam, Oliver et al, I would like to say a big thank you for all your help over the last 10 or so years. I have found Spark and Sons an excellent estate agent that has always looked after me and my housing needs. There has often been very quick responses to any issues that I have had with the properties that I have lived in and these housing 'issues' have been dealt with as quickly as possible. Please read this and stay away from this unprofessional and disorganised "company" I rented a house for 3 years, I soon realised there was a lot wrong with the house eg the plug sockets falling off the walls, bathroom leaking into the hall & bedroom, heating not working properly etc. So I called them to be told call their plumber or electrician (which there is only one of each) they hardly answered the phone and were always too busy then when work needed doing they had to ask the office first which always took ages, because of this We were left for over a month including christmas day with no heating or hot water at all!

If you call the office, around 90% of the time the person you need to talk to has 'just popped out' so you leave a message and never get called back, you have to chase them for everything! even through email they hardly get back to you, they all lie to cover each others back and promise you whatever you want and then its forgotten about and you start again with the next member of staff.

They charge you for anything they can. eg re-sign the contract every 6 months And don't expect your deposit back in a hurry! It's taken me 6 months to get mine back and once again they are trying to charge me for everything they can. I am disgusted by this company, I have been renting for 10 years and have never had a penny of my deposit retained. I really wish I read the reviews before I rented with them

AVOID! By far the worst letting state agency in Brighton. I rented a few houses, and I have never encountered a company with so many liars and decievers. I rented a room from them from September to April. The first thing they did was trick me to believe that the rent was for 6 months, when it was actually for 7. -They said that the room included microwave and a cleaning lady every two weeks.

There was no microwave and the cleaning lady never came for 7 months. -The house had many many problems from the first day which they refused to take care of.we had non-working showers, non-working toilets, etc. -Eventhough they said the room came with a lock, I had to buy a new one because it didn\'t work. When I went to them to tell them my lock didn\'t work their answer was, literally, \"it\'s not our problem, you should buy a new lock\". -They are never there to help you.

I had a problem and had to leave 2 months early. I did everything in my hand so as to have other person occupy my place, I put ads and had people go to the agency to fill my space for those 2 months or to make another contract. But they made up ridiculous clauses so as to make it impossible for them to rent the house. Basically, they did everything they could not to help me, and had to pay for the 2 months I wasn\'t there. -Every time you have a problem, they are always busy \"but they\'ll call you as soon as they\'re through\". Needless to say they never call and you end up giving up. -They refused to give me back my deposit and had to raise a dispute. -The last month of my rent, I payed by bank transfer.

I signed so they send standing order of one month. But the standing order they sent was not of one month, like I signed. Instead, it kept going forever until I cancelled it. Luckily I didn\'t have money in the bank for those months they charged me illegally; if I had had money, it would have been sent to them. And after all the problems with the deposit, I\'m pretty sure I would have had to go to court so they gave me that money back. Nonetheless, this didn\'t spare me of the banking fee.

So I lost money just because they decided to charge me after my rent finished. There just couldn\'t be more reasons to stay away. Really really horrible. Go to any other letting agency (whose comission is, by the way, less than this one), or just rent by gumtree; or you\'ll most definitely lose money.

I came in here a few weeks ago to try and get assistance in finding myself a new property. The staff were extremely friendly, despite it being about 4.30 on a Saturday afternoon. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted, or where. Despite this, the staff were really helping in trying to move forward and help. They ended up taking me to a couple of flats, even though the working day had actually ended by this point.

I would say however that having not actually had Spark and Sons as a letting agent, I can't confirm or deny on experiences that relate to those mentioned by Joseph in his review.
