Additional offices at 28 Meads Street were opened in 2006, further increasing the firm's profile and providing a local service to the residents of Meads, East Dean and Friston. The company is now run by Andrew Leaper together with experienced negotiators and support staff. Leaper Stanbrook is a local independent firm, and not part of a large corporate group who use their estate agency outlets to sell financial services.
Our town centre office occupies a high profile location within 50 yards of Eastbourne Railway Station and our Meads office is located in the heart of Meads Village. Both offices are appointed to the highest standards and feature our very extensive window displays, allowing us to guarantee that all properties will be permanently on display.
A truly outstanding five bedroom detached residence that has been modernised in the past few years to an exceptionally high standard. The house occupies arguably the best position within an exclusive Close of detached houses in the Summerdown area backing onto Eastbourne College sports fields. This substantial five-bedroom family house with double garage and southwesterly facing rear garden lies on Summerdown Road, a prime residential location of Eastbourne.Appledore is set well back, with mature trees and hedges providing privacy from the road and is accessed via an in/out driveway.

I have just completed on the sale of my house and have to say I was delighted with the way Leaper Stanbrook dealt with the whole process. From the initial valuation, discussing the offers, all the way through to dealing with the complicated chain in a very conscientious and diplomatic way. I always felt that, as their client, they were always looking after my interest.
There communication was first class, I would always receive a call back or email within an hour or so of leaving a message. I would certainly use them again and unhesitatingly recommend them to anyone else needing an estate agent in Eastbourne.

In August 2014 we used Leaper Stanbrook to sell our flat and buy a house. The valuation was in line with two other agents and considerably higher than one. Every member of staff we dealt with was friendly and helpful. At the end of a difficult process, they actually went and removed furniture into storage for the house vendors so we could move in on the day we wanted. They would definitely be our first choice in future moves.

This agent got it spectacularly wrong. I have had 4 valuations and all were within 5K of each other. Leaper Stanbrook turned up, and without due hesitation immediately valued the house at 250K, a good 30K less than the others. Obviously he had the thought of the stamp duty threshold in mind, but didn't give any due consideration to me as the client.
He was insistent that he was right and would only be able to sell it if it was on at that price. Even a monkey could have sold it at 250K! He pointed to some scuff marks on one of the skirting boards and said that buyers would take that into consideration when viewing, hence justifying his low valuation. Errr. really?! The whole point of having the correct valuation is to ensure that you're taking into account what the market is determining.
The agent from Leaper Stanbrook is an ignorant and lazy individual who sadly doesn't want to put in the necessary work. He asked me about prices of other houses on the road and what they had sold for (all he had needed to do was check out mouseprice before he turned up!) If he is representative of the agency, my advice is to give the organisation a wide berth.
There is no shortage of agents in Eastbourne, so do yourself a favour and choose another. At least that way you can be sure that there is someone representing your interests, rather than trying to make a quick buck out of you, doing minimal work.
